Nimonic 90

Nimonic90 is an age-strengthened cobalt-nickel-based deformed high-temperature alloy, which has high tensile strength and creep resistance, good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance at 815~870℃, high fatigue strength and good formability and weldability under the repeated action of hot and cold. Used in turbine engine turbine disc, blade, high temperature fasteners, clamps, seals and elastic components.

Nimonic90 metallographic structure. The main strengthening phase of this alloy is γ'-Ni3 (Ti, Al), which is precipitated in the crystal with square particles off of different sizes, and the γ' phase of this shape can also be seen on the grain boundary, and the carbide is precipitated in a discontinuous chain on the grain boundary. Nimonic90 process performance and requirements. 1, the alloy is prone to internal cracking during forging, allowing heavy hammer blows, and does not allow low temperature chamfering. Ingot loading temperature is not higher than 700℃, final heating temperature is 1150℃±10℃, opening forging temperature is not lower than 1060℃, final forging temperature is not lower than 950℃. 2、The average size of grain size of the alloy is closely related to the degree of deformation of the forging and the final forging temperature. 3、The alloy can be inert gas shielded tungsten arc welding and flash butt welding in solid solution state.
