NS113

NS113 is an all austenitic low carbon nickel-iron-chromium alloy, the cobalt content in this alloy can be strictly controlled to less than 0.01%. It is resistant to corrosion by many corrosive media. Its high nickel content gives it good resistance to stress corrosion cracking in aqueous corrosion conditions. The high chromium content gives it better resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion cracking. The alloy has good resistance to nitric and organic acid corrosion, but has limited resistance to corrosion in sulfuric and hydrochloric acids. It has good resistance to corrosion in oxidizing and non-oxidizing salts, except in halides where pitting corrosion is possible. It also has good corrosion resistance in water, steam, and mixtures of steam, air, and carbon dioxide.

NS113 Corrosion Resistance. NS113 is a general purpose engineering alloy that is resistant to acid and alkali metal corrosion in both oxidizing and reducing environments. The high nickel content gives the alloy effective resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Corrosion resistance is excellent in a variety of media such as sulfuric, phosphoric, nitric and organic acids, and alkali metals such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid solutions.
