Haynes 214

Haynes 214 is a nickel-chromium-aluminum-iron alloy that is primarily intended for use in temperatures of 955 degrees Celsius (1750 degrees Fahrenheit) and above. It exhibits oxidation resistance that far exceeds that of almost all conventional heat-resistant wrought alloys at such temperatures.

Haynes 214 alloy has a high resistance to oxidation at temperatures of up to 1204°C. It is increasingly used for "clean heating" in the ceramics, metalworking, automotive and electronics industries. Excellent antioxidant Haynes 214 alloy (UNS N07214) is a nickel-chromium-aluminium-iron alloy. It is designed to provide the best option for forging austenitic stainless steel materials under high temperature and oxidation conditions, while allowing conventional forming and joining. It is primarily used at temperatures of 1750°F (955°C) and higher.214 Oxidizing alloy shows a resistance at these temperatures that far exceeds that of almost all conventional heat resistant forged cups. This is due to the formation of a tightly adhered AL2O3 protective oxide skin, which is preferred for the formation of chromium oxide at these high temperatures. At temperatures below 1750°F (955°C), Haynes 214 alloy forms a layer of oxide, which is a mixture of chromium and aluminum oxide. This mixed oxide is poorly protective, but it still provides the same antioxidants as the best nickel-based alloys of Haynes214 alloy. The Haynes214 high temperature AL 2 O 3 oxide skin formed by the alloy also gives the alloy excellent resistance to carburization, nitriding and corrosion in chloride-containing oxidizing environments.
