Hastelloy G-35

Hastelloy G-35 is resistant to localized corrosion and chloride ion stress corrosion cracking in media containing chlorides. The high chromium content makes it very resistant to corrosion by other oxidizing acids such as nitric acid and nitric acid-containing mixtures. The high molybdenum content makes it moderately resistant to corrosion by reducing acids. Unlike other nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, Hastelloy G-35 resists corrosion by dealloyed elements of hot sodium hydroxide very well.

Hastelloy G-35 plate is suitable for a variety of chemical industries containing oxidizing and reducing media. The higher molybdenum and chromium content enables the alloy to resist chloride ion corrosion, and the tungsten element further improves corrosion resistance. Also C-276 Hastelloy tubing is one of only a few materials resistant to corrosion by moist chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions, and has significant corrosion resistance to highly concentrated chloride salt solutions such as ferric chloride and copper chloride. Applications. Wet process phosphoric acid production evaporators, pickling equipment using nitric and hydrofluoric acids, caustic soda neutralization systems, and chemical systems involving nitric acid and chlorides. Heat exchangers, bellows compensators, chemical equipment, flue gas desulfurization and denitrification, paper industry, aerospace applications, acidic environments.
