Hastelloy C276

Hastelloy C276 alloy is used in a wide range of chemical and petrochemical applications, such as in components and catalytic systems that come into contact with organic substances containing chlorides. This material is particularly suitable for use in high temperature, inorganic and organic acids mixed with impurities (e.g. formic and acetic acids), and seawater corrosive environments.

The high molybdenum and chromium content makes the alloy resistant to chloride ions, and the tungsten element further enhances its corrosion resistance. c276 is one of only a few materials that are resistant to wet chloride, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions, and the alloy has significant resistance to high concentrations of chloride salt solutions (e.g. ferric chloride and copper chloride).
