Hastelloy B-3

Hastelloy B-3 alloy is a NI-MO corrosion-resistant alloy and a low-carbon alloy. In order to solve the technical problems caused by the lack of stability, while retaining the corrosion-resistant characteristics of B2, the problem of B2 cracking in welding and fracture during processing can be solved.

The corresponding alloy grades: NS3203, 00Mo30Ni65Fe2cr2, American Standard: Hastelloy B-3, N10675, German Standard: 2.4600, NiMo29cr,Nimofer6628. Corrosion resistance: corrosion resistance is better than B2, it has excellent corrosion resistance at any temperature and concentration, and it also has good corrosion resistance for sulfuric acid, acetic acid, anthranilic acid, phosphoric acid and other media that do not have oxidizing properties. Moreover, due to the adjustment of its chemical composition, its thermal stability is significantly improved compared with B2, and it has high resistance to pitting corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, knife corrosion and corrosion in the heat-affected zone of welding. Processing and welding: The alloy has good forming and welding properties. When heated at 1230°C, forging and other hot work can be performed if sufficient time is allowed for the part to heat uniformly overall. It can also be shaped by cold working, and although work hardening occurs more rapidly, all conventional cold working techniques are applicable to it. Care should be taken in welding to prevent excessive heat input. Control the interlayer temperature below 93 degrees. Oxyacetylene welding and submerged arc welding are not recommended. Hastelloy B-3 alloy can be welded by all common welding methods, but we do not recommend oxyacetylene and submerged arc welding methods for parts used in corrosive environments. Special care should be taken to take certain precautions during welding to prevent excessive heat input. The advantage of the alloy is that it retains its excellent toughness when exposed instantaneously to medium temperatures. This exposure usually occurs regularly during the heat treatment of the process. Whereas HASTELLOY B-2 alloy is very susceptible to embrittlement when exposed to temperatures of 700°C for short periods, HASTELLOY B-3 alloy exhibits significant resistance to embrittlement and can allow such exposure for several hours. This provides a great convenience for the alloy to be made into complex, such as molded device parts. Application areas: It can be applied to all applications of B-2 alloy, i.e. it has a wide range of applications in the chemical, petrochemical, energy manufacturing and pollution control fields, especially in the sulfuric acid,,, phosphoric acid and acetic acid industries.
